Thomasina Miers is a cook, writer and television presenter and the co-founder of the Wahaca chain of Mexican street-food restaurants.

Tommi studied at Ballymaloe Cookery School before working as a cookery writer. Her work takes influences from her time spent in Mexico.

The Duke of Cambridge made Tommi an OBE for services to the food industry, and she received the honour at Buckingham Palace in 2019.

Reality TV

In 2005 Thomasina won MasterChef by impressing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with her bold cooking style.

After winning MasterChef, Miers met her business partner and they opened Wahaca. There aim was to create an innovative and sustainable business.

Along with co-presenter Guy Grieve, Tommi has made cookery programmes for Channel 4, and in 2011 she presented Mexican Food Made Simple for Channel 5.

Food Writer

Thomasina Miers is also the author of several cookery books and the co-editor of Soup Kitchen.

Tommi has written for many publications such as The Times and Country Life. And, writing a column called Weekend Cook, became a regular in the Saturday Guardian magazine.

Public Speaking

Miers has a wealth of speaking experience on a range of topics, so she has shared her passionate talks for Marks & Spencers, PWC, and Intuit QuickBooks.

As a keynote speaker she explores her personal story and lessons she’s learnt on the way.
