Gok Wan is an author and television personality turned celebrity chef and events manager.
Initially training in the performing arts at the Central School of Speech and Drama, Gok then entered the fashion business, writing for popular fashion magazines and appearing on various television shows.
In 2006, Channel 4 employed him to present his own television show, How to Look Good Naked.
Moving beyond fashion, in 2012 he presented a series for Channel 4 entitled Gok Cooks Chinese. Penguin Group UK later published a book of the same name.
In 2017, National Geographic aired his show Gok’s Chinese Takeaway, that explored Chinese food around the globe.
Gok Wan co-founded and launched the inaugural Golden Chopsticks Awards in 2018. The event, hosted by Wan, took place at the London Marriott Hotel, along with judges Ken Hom, Simon Rimmer, Ching He Huang, Eric Yu, Fuchsia Dunlop, Jeremy Pang, Karen Barnes, Katy Tse Blair, Sonny Leong.
Also in 2018, he launched a new company, Beautiful Events and Productions Ltd, which offers high-end event management services.
The venture started after Wan and his business partner Peter Ferguson produced a 21-date tour around the UK and Ireland of Wan’s show entitled ‘Fashion Brunch Club’.
